Government departments recently organized a publicity activity on theme of "Good Youngsters in the New Era" in Luoyang, central China's .

The event was supported by five departments: the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress; the Ministry of Education; the Central Committee of the Communist Young League of China; the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF); and, China National Committee for the Wellbeing of the Youth.

The scheme praised 10 outstanding teenagers for various actions, skills, compassion and strength of character.

Diao Xingyu received recognition for providing voluntary services for over 2,600 hours.

Xie Yi has been sending meals to Tibetan children in Yushu, northwest China's Qinghai Province for years.

Chen Zipeng has a passion for science and conducts his studies from a wheelchair.

Yu Guo applied for a national patent for small, innovative inventions at the age of nine.

Wang Xiaohu has carried his classmate, who suffers from infantile paralysis, on his back to school for years.

Wen Min has been carefully taking care of her unwell adoptive mother for years.

Liu Jia has been taking care of her elderly grandmother and other lonely seniors for years.

Zhang Xiaoru has been helping protect the main channel of China's South-North Water Diversion Project with her classmates.

Shu Wenjing has been actively promoting China's fine cultural traditions.

Finally, Chen Jiageng was recognized for being hardworking and never afraid of challenges.

The release activity took the form of short films, story-telling and on-the-spot interactions.

The five departments will continue to launch such activities in the future to help more teenagers establish correct outlook on life and encourage them to develop positive moral qualities.
