As inbound tourism surges, Qingliang Valley welcomes domestic and international visitors to enjoy an immersive and exhilarating experience during the May Day holiday

WORLD 2026/04/29 10:48

In recent years, China's inbound tourism market has shown strong signs of recovery and growth. In 2025, inbound tourists exceeded ‌150 million‌, a year-on-year increase of over ‌17%‌, with visa-free entries surpassing ‌30 million‌. In the first quarter of 2026, border inspections recorded ‌21.333 million‌ inbound foreign travelers, up ‌22.3%‌ year-on-year, reflecting the surging appeal of Chinese tourism.

Behind this boom lies the enhancement of China's international image and influence, as well as profound reforms in the tourism supply side. Destinations are no longer relying solely on single attractions but are deeply exploring cultural IPs, launching integrated products such as "tourism + intangible heritage," "tourism + study tours," and "tourism + sports." These innovations are transforming the foreign tourist experience from "sightseeing" to ‌cultural immersion‌ and from "checklist tourism" to ‌in-depth exploration‌.

When it comes to China's World Heritage, the Great Wall stands as one of the most iconic symbols. While Badaling, Juyongguan, and Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall are already world-famous, the ‌Crystal Great Wall‌ in the Qingliang Valley Scenic Area in Miyun, Beijing, has injected new vitality into Great Wall culture.

The ‌Crystal Great Wall‌, built in 2017, is a unique landscape that innovatively combines "crystal" with the "Great Wall." Constructed with special "crystal bricks" in a 1:1 scale of the real Great Wall, the structure winds along the mountain ridge, complete with watchtowers ideal for photo opportunities and panoramic views of the entire scenic area.

Perched atop ‌Jiuchongtian Peak‌, the highest point in the scenic area, this modern architectural marvel reflects the concept of ‌love and eternity‌. During the day, the crystal bricks refract sunlight into a rainbow of colors, resembling a silver dragon winding across the mountaintop. At night, the glowing bricks create a dreamlike, colorful spectacle.

Beside the Crystal Great Wall stands the ‌"Crystal Love Wall"‌, a heart-shaped structure made entirely of crystal, highly popular among couples. Visitors can walk hand-in-hand through the heart, take commemorative photos, and hang prayer plaques at the nearby blessing platform, inscribing wishes for peace and love. Above the Crystal Great Wall, the ‌"Mirror of the Sky"‌ has become a viral photo spot, where visitors can sit and capture stunning reflections that blend earth and sky into one.

Qingliang Valley offers more than just the Crystal Great Wall‌. It is one of the earliest scenic areas in Beijing to introduce alpine water slides. The ‌"Asia's No.1 Slide"‌, with a nearly ‌800-meter drop‌ and a ‌3,000-meter-long track‌, offers a thrilling, non-stop ride full of speed and excitement.

Additionally, the ‌glass walkway‌ built along steep cliffs allows visitors to enjoy breathtaking views of the lush greenery below. The ‌high-altitude sky bridge‌, spanning two mountain peaks, feels like a dragon leaping across a steep ravine, offering a refreshing and exhilarating experience. The ‌"Sky Mirror"‌ platform provides a panoramic view of the seamless blend of sky and land. The ‌magic carpet ride‌ glides through the forest, offering a relaxing way to enjoy the mountain scenery. For children, the ‌water park‌ and ‌"Charge Forward Happily"‌ attractions ensure the whole family finds joy.

With the ‌May Day holiday‌ just around the corner, Qingliang Valley is opening its arms to both domestic and international visitors for an immersive experience. Here, you can explore a new interpretation of Great Wall culture, enjoy the thrill of alpine sliding, and indulge in various viral attractions—‌all the fun packed into one destination‌.

As China's tourism continues to upgrade, more international travelers will step into China, understand China, and fall in love with China, experiencing firsthand the boundless charm of this land. Emerging scenic spots like Qingliang Valley are riding this wave of inbound tourism, standing out and shining brightly. ‌Chinese to urism is set to shine even more brilliantly on the world stage‌.
